Organic versus Commercially Grown Produce
What are the differences of organically grown produce versus commercially grown produce?
Organically grown produce is going to have more nutritional content than the typical commercially grown produce. The reason why is that typical commercial grown produce has years of chemicals, fertilizers, pesticides being applied to the ground every year. Every time
these chemicals and pesticides are applied it has an effect on the ground itself. The use of these chemicals has killed off and depleted the natural occurring organic acids and the natural organic microorganisms that must be available in the soil to convert the natural occurring minerals to be absorbed into the plant life.
So without these in the soil the plants are not absorbing the level of nutrients. The organic farmers do not use these harsh chemicals so they are not killing off the natural acids and microorganisms so the plants are able to readily absorb a higher level of minerals with nutrient content than you would get from commercialized farming.
What exactly does "organic" mean?
To put it simply, organic is a form of non-chemical farming and food processing. Organic farmers do not use:
- chemicals
- genetically engineered seeds
- hormones
- antibiotics in their farming practices
So in general organic food is better for the environment and allows the public to avoid chemicals, hormones and antibiotics in their food.
